New marblemedia series picked up by CBC Kids

TORONTO – CBC Kids has greenlit a new 10 episode, three minute series from marblemedia that will keep children and their parents guessing. Each episode of Holy Baloney features three kids who take time out of their lunch hour to answer a poignant question about everyday things, with each giving a different, often hilarious, response.  The questions, and sometimes the answers, will be tricky for both kids and parents, but it’s up to the viewers to watch the convincing answers of all three schoolyard experts and decide which answer is right, and which two are complete baloney. CAJ slams Quebec court order demanding Radio-Canada journalist sources

OTTAWA – The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) is denouncing a Quebec Superior Court ruling that a Radio-Canada journalist reveal confidential sources. Justice Jean-François Émond last week ordered investigative journalist Marie-Maude Denis to identify sources who came forward as part of her investigation into alleged collusion in the awarding of public contracts in Quebec.  In a statement Saturday, CAJ called the court’s decision “wrongheaded and damaging to constitutionally guaranteed press freedom”, a sentiment shared by the Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec, among other press-freedom groups. Juno Awards to live stream on Twitter

VANCOUVER – Sunday’s broadcast of the 2018 Juno Awards will be live streamed on Twitter for the first time. A partnership between Twitter and CBC, the program will begin at 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT on March 25 at Twitter.com/CBCMusic, with spots from sponsor TD running as pre-roll before the live stream. Majority of Canadians are Olympics fans (mostly on TV still), but overall engagement dips

TORONTO – The Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games did a good job capturing imaginations this winter generating strong Canadian audiences for sponsors and advertisers on TV, digital and social channels according to a new report from Toronto’s Solutions Research Group. CBSC’s Courtemanche among WCT annual award winners

OTTAWA – Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) chair Sylvie Courtemanche has been named Woman of the Year by Women in Communications and Technology (WCT). New code designed to shut down harassment, discrimination in Canadian creative industries

TORONTO – Canada’s creative community has released an industry-wide code of conduct to help prevent and respond to harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence in the workplace.
