CBC on Monday announced new broadcast and streaming details for its coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 2.
The national public broadcaster’s daily games coverage on CBC and CBC Gem begins Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT with the opening ceremony hosted by CBC Sports’s Andi Petrillo and Paralympic cycling medallist Nathan Clement.

Corus says it is adding news gathering roles

Unifor says the latest round of layoffs at Corus will impact 43 unionized workers across the country, with most of those job losses in Alberta.
The union says an estimated 28 positions are set to be eliminated in Alberta, two in British Columbia, five in Winnipeg, two in Saskatoon, three in the Maritimes, and three in the Ontario region.

CBC/Radio-Canada is planning a significant international expansion that will see CBC News and Radio-Canada Info place journalists in five new regions, including re-opening its bureaus in Beijing, Jerusalem, and Mexico City, and establishing a presence in Los Angeles, as well as a new location in Europe to be determined.
