Toronto prodco Cut & Paste Pictures launches with several projects in development

Damian Abraham, frontman of Canadian punk band F*cked Up, and International Digital Emmy-winning producer Zach Feldberg have partnered to launch Cut & Paste Pictures. CBC News to expand local services in Hamilton later this year

CBC News announced Wednesday an expansion of local news services in Hamilton, Ontario, with a live audio weekday morning show and a weekly podcast to be added to the existing digital news offered by the station. Corus receives court approval for recapitalization transaction

Corus Entertainment announced Tuesday it has received an order from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to proceed with its previously announced recapitalization transaction, which is designed to reduce the media company’s third-party debt and other liabilities by more than $500 million. Other expected benefits of the recapitalization include decreasing Corus’s initial annual cash interest payments by up to $40 million, as well as extending debt maturity by five years and maintaining continued access to a $125-million secured revolving credit facility. Postmedia Studios, a division of Canadian news media company Postmedia Network Inc., and Elevation Pictures’ Toronto-based production division on Tuesday announced a new strategic partnership to finance, develop and launch select Canadian feature projects. CBC/Radio-Canada announced Thursday that its all-news channels, CBC News Network and ICI RDI, are now available on Amazon Prime Video as add-on subscriptions. The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and CBC Sports announced Tuesday a five-year broadcast partnership that will see marquee games air on CBC TV, including the league’s first best-of-three CEBL Finals, and all games live streamed on CBC Gem and the CBC Sports YouTube channel.
