TORONTO – Rogers Media's OMNI Television plans to deliver even more hit Bollywood programming, community-focused multilingual newscasts, and exclusive cultural event coverage with the re-launch of OMNI.2 in Ontario. TORONTO – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) is providing more than $4.2 million to innovative projects receiving development and marketing support as part of the second round of its 2012-2013 Experimental Stream. In November 2012, the CMF announced a contribution of more than $10 million to 15 projects who received production support.

TORONTO and CALGARY – Rogers Communications said late Monday afternoon it plans to pay Shaw Communications $700 million to acquire Hamilton Ontario-based Mountain Cablevision and to secure Shaw’s AWS spectrum holdings in 2014.
The deal will also see Shaw purchase Rogers' one-third interest in TVtropolis for $59 million, giving it 100% of the specialty channel, and Shaw will enter into negotiations with Rogers for the provision of certain services in Western Canada. WATERLOO- Sandvine has reported revenues of $27.5 million U.S. in its fourth quarter, up 31% from the same period a year earlier. The company’s shares jumped 9.6% on Thursday closing at $1.70.
Sandvine attributes its success in part to the development of solutions that enable ISPs to create new methods of charging for increased bandwidth usage.
