OTTAWA – Canadian television production had a landmark year in 2011/12 with the volume of productions hitting an all-time high and several Canadian prime-time drama series surpassing the one million audience threshold. After a decade of relatively modest growth and some instances of year-over-year declines, the Canadian television sub-sector experienced broadly based gains in production in both of the major language markets. OTTAWA – Telesat today launched its new mobile-friendly website which features an improved design and enhanced satellite fleet functionality using Google Earth. Telesat says it developed the new site based on input from customers and industry experts.

GATINEAU – Wind Mobile has some pretty harsh words for the CRTC’s attempt at creating a wireless code of conduct for mobile service providers. The upstart carrier says the Commission completely missed the boat in not addressing three-year contracts and the de-linking of handset subsidies and service terms.
