TORONTO – Rogers Media announced Sam Dynes has been hired as director of production for its in-house productions unit, effective immediately.
In her role, “Dynes will oversee all production logistics and operations for the entertainment and lifestyle brands at City, and work cross-functionally with Rogers Media divisions across all platforms to expand and create innovative, integrated brand productions, says the company’s press release. Dynes will report to Jordan Schwartz, vice-president, in-house productions, Rogers Media.
Dynes comes to Rogers Media with more than three decades of television industry experience, having managed large-scale projects including the 2010 Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the launch of MTV Canada and The Comedy Network, and the transformation of Toronto’s historic Masonic Temple into a state-of-the-art production facility.
“Rogers Media continues to expand and leverage our powerful brands and portfolio, and Sam’s wealth of experience will help us continue to produce unique content to strengthen our national presence,” said Schwartz. “Rogers Media is committed to increasing the development of lifestyle, entertainment, and original content experiences for our audiences and Sam brings with her an expertise that will greatly enhance the strength of our local production teams and cross-company initiatives.”

Dynes also led the Cityline in Alberta initiative, a week-long production special with five, live full-show broadcasts from the province, marking the first time the production had been on the road in the series’ 29 year history.
In the new role, Dynes will continue to contribute to the continued success of work on Cityline, City’s flagship morning shows, Breakfast Television in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg, as well as the launch of a new Breakfast Television show in Montreal.
Prior to joining Rogers Media, Dynes worked as director of in-house production at CTV, where she launched and managed a variety of in-house productions including lifestyle and entertainment series such as eTalk, Vicki Gabereau, House&Home, and production events such as Live Earth and Live 8.
