OTTAWA – Michel Bissonnette will be working double-duty for a while.
CBC CEO Catherine Tait announced Wednesday the current executive vice-president of Radio-Canada would be taking over as interim EVP of CBC, following the departure of Heather Conway next week.
Conway’s permanent successor will be chosen in the new year and Bissonnette (pictured) will take on his new role starting December 8.

OAKVILLE – On Wednesday, November 28, provincial and territorial emergency management organizations will be issuing public test messages through Alert Ready, Canada's emergency alerting system, that will hit TVs, radios and wireless phones all around the country.
Each province and territory will issue one test message at 1:55 p.m. local time, with the exception of Quebec, where the test will occur at 2:55 p.m. local time. OTTAWA – The majority of Canadians who report pirating TV and movie content also have a TV service or an over-the-top TV subscription, according to a new research from the Media Technology Monitor (MTM).

GATINEAU – Last week Corus Entertainment filed an application informing the CRTC that it will shut down 44 transmitters and requested an amendment to their station licences.
Twenty of those stations had not been converted to digital and Corus was required to do so, according to the conditions of the acquisition imposed by the CRTC when then CanWest Global stations were acquired by Shaw Communications back in 2010.

OTTAWA – Cuts to overall energy consumption as well as an in increase in the recycling and diverting of e-waste and scrap metal are among the highlights of CBC/Radio-Canada’s latest corporate Environmental Performance Report.
The report highlights the public broadcaster's “green” scorecard and initiatives from April 2017 to March 2018. This edition also marks the 10th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada environmental reporting.
During the last decade, CBC/Radio-Canada has:
