OTTAWA – A growing number of options for accessing TV and video content has given rise to “cord jumping”, where consumers hop on and off of services to ensure they get what they want when they want, says the Media Technology Monitor (MTM).

OTTAWA and TORONTO – CBC/Radio-Canada will be live streaming a package of Paralympic sport competitions, allowing viewers to cheer on Canada's top para athletes as they compete at key events between Paralympic Games.
Known as the Paralympic Super Series, the package of Paralympic sport competitions will be available as live streams via the CBC Gem app and cbcgem.ca, as well as on the CPC Facebook page, with select events available on the Radio-Canada Sports app and radio-canada.ca/sports.

Chris Wilson named Interim Head of CBC Sports
TORONTO – CBC Sports chief Greg Stremlaw (right) is leaving the CBC this month to become the president and CEO of United Soccer League club Indy Eleven.
A CBC story says that Stremlaw's arrival in Indianapolis coincides with the club's proposal for a $550 million US mixed-use real estate district, a development project called Eleven Park anchored by a 20,000-seat world-class, soccer-specific stadium that meets the minimum requirement by Major League Soccer and is scheduled to be ready for the 2022 season opener.

CBC debuts season three on January 8
VANCOUVER – Canadian hit comedy Kim’s Convenience is in pursuit of more international audiences after finalizing a distribution deal for the Asian market.
Producer Thunderbird Entertainment said that its new deal with Yoon & Company includes the show’s first three seasons, and that a cable TV release in Korea has been confirmed for early this year. Netflix already snapped up the global streaming rights to the show, and Amazon holds its VoD rights in the United States and United Kingdom.
