MONTREAL — Quebecor’s TVA Group today announced its Zeste cooking brand is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a major rollout across Quebecor’s media ecosystem.
The brand already has a television presence on the Zeste channel and in the Zeste Cuisine column on TVA’s Salut Bonjour show. MONTREAL – In a news release issued on Friday, Quebecor claims it won a CRTC-adjudicated dispute in which the company alleged Bell had engaged in undue preference when packaging Bell Media’s sports channel RDS and Quebecor’s TVA Sports for Bell TV customers.

MONTREAL — Quebecor’s TVA Sports, the exclusive French-language broadcaster of NHL games in Canada, announced Monday its broadcast schedule for the first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers.
The first game in the best-of-seven series takes place on Wednesday, August 12 at 8 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto and will be broadcast in French exclusively on TVA Sports and TVA Sports Direct. MONTREAL – The mid-summer NHL playoffs are paying off so far for Quebecor Media’s TVA Sports.
The first three games of the Montreal Canadiens-Pittsburgh Penguins series, (August 1, 3 and 5) drew 37.6% market share among adults aged 25 to 54 and a peak audience of 1,238,000 viewers in game three, according to Numeris numbers, in a release from the broadcaster. MONTREAL – While Quebecor took a 5% hit to second quarter revenue, which came in at $1 billion due mostly to the impact of the Covid-19 crisis, there were still positives to take away.
Its adjusted EBITDA for the period ended June 30th was $475.7 million, up 4.5%, while net income lines were up and cash flow grew 18.6% to $326.1 million.

Much lower costs at TVA Sports help bottom line though
MONTREAL – Quebecor Media’s broadcaster, film and TV maker, and publisher TVA Group announced Thursday its operating revenues in the second quarter of 2020 came in at $103.9 million, a year-over-year decrease of 29%.
However, the net loss attributable to shareholders in the quarter ended June 30 was $2.7 million, which compares favourably to the $6.2 million loss in the second quarter of 2019. Consolidated adjusted EBITDA of $7.36 million was double that of Q2 2019.

MONTREAL – On Monday, Quebecor Media broadcaster TVA has issued a statement in response to incidents over the weekend where two of its reporters, Kariane Bourassa and Yves Poirier were jostled by anti-mask demonstrators in Montréal and Québec City.
“During those demonstrations against the obligation of wearing a mask in public places, some demonstrators have insulted, intimidated, and interfered with the work of TVA reporters covering the events in the field, therefore trying to compromise freedom of the press,” reads the statement, in French.

MONTREAL – Peggy Tabet has been promoted to vice president public and regulatory affairs, the company announced Thursday.
She had been VP of regulatory affairs/broadcasting.
Tabet, a 22-year Quebecor veteran, will now oversee all regulatory affairs for broadcasting and telecommunications, as well as public affairs, said the company annoucement. Her promotion comes on the heels of the departure of Serge Sasseville who was senior vice president, corporate and institutional affairs.
