TORONTO — Bell Media’s The Harold Greenberg Fund, in partnership with the Northwest Territories Film Commission (NTFC), Nunavut Film Development Corporation (NFDC), and the Government of Yukon’s Media Development Unit, announced Thursday the new HGF/Territories Shorts Program.
This new funding initiative is designed to finance narrative short films from filmmaking teams across the three territories, showcasing their creative visions and furthering the careers of writers, producers and directors as they develop their skills, Bell Media said in a news release.

Ivan Fecan steps away from executive chair role
VANCOUVER — Thunderbird Entertainment Group announced Thursday that industry veteran Ivan Fecan is transitioning from his role as executive chair of the board to focus on developing and producing premium content for the company, such as the award-winning sitcom Kim’s Convenience.

OTTAWA – As part of its campaign pledge to “make life affordable for Canadian families,” the federal Liberal Party says that if it remains in power following next month’s election, it will “take strong action” to have cellphone bills reduced by 25% within four years and save a family of four nearly $1,000 a year.
