OTTAWA – Day one of the CBC’s broadcasting licences renewal virtual hearing was definitely the Ian Scott show. And although he shuffled back and forth through many topics, there is a method to it all, a little like a Canadian Colombo.

OTTAWA – Reports from Ottawa late Monday evening say Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is planning to announce a small cabinet shuffle Tuesday morning and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains (above) will leave federal cabinet as part of it.

TORONTO — CBC today revealed the 10 amateur bakers who are set to compete in the upcoming fourth season of The Great Canadian Baking Show, which will premiere Sunday, February 14 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service.
As previously announced, season four of the baking competition series will be hosted by comedians, actors, writers and Second City alumni Alan Shane Lewis and Ann Pornel. Pastry chefs Bruno Feldeisen and Kyla Kennaley return to the judge’s table to sample the amateur bakers’ best offerings.

GATINEAU – Monday will mark the beginning of the renewal hearing of the CBC/Radio-Canada broadcasting licences, which was originally scheduled to start on May 25, 2020.

GATINEAU – Back in August 2020, the CRTC found both Telus and Iristel in violation of the Telecom Act and after Iristel issued a Review and Vary (R&V) application, Telus filed one of its own, in November.
While Iristel had been determined guilty of traffic stimulation with area code 867 calls, Telus was accused of taking matters in its own hands and ending the practice by not connecting what it identified as dubious calls.
