TORONTO — Animation production company Guru Studio announced today its new series Big Blue, which will premiere on CBC Kids in December, will feature a theme song produced by Grammy-winning music producer Timbaland (above) and his Beatclub team.

TORONTO — Several former Entertainment One (eOne) executives, including John Morayniss (above), have joined together to launch a new Toronto-based independent content studio, Blink Studios, with Endeavor Content as its lead strategic investor.
Officially launching today, Blink Studios will operate as “a full-service indie studio focused on the development, production and monetization of premium scripted and unscripted content for a global market,” reads a press release.
Blink Studios is headquartered in Toronto with offices in Los Angeles.

OTTAWA – Media Technology Monitor (MTM), today released its Indigenous Peoples and Media Technology report, which looks at how Indigenous Peoples of Canada (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit) are consuming media and adopting technology.

CBC SPORTS TODAY announced it will have exclusive broadcast coverage of the 2021 Skate Canada International starting Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT on CBC TV and CBC Gem.
The event itself runs from Oct. 29-31 and is taking place in Vancouver at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.

OTTAWA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has officially announced his new(ish) Cabinet.
In a ceremony at Rideau Hall Tuesday, Trudeau appointed Pablo Rodriguez as Minister of Canadian Heritage. Rodriguez was government house leader until dissolution and had been Heritage Minister between 2018 and 2019. His predecessor, Stephen Guilbeault, is now the Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
Rodriguez is the third (or fourth if you count his previous passage) Heritage Minister to come from Montréal.

OTTAWA – CBC’s Media Technology Monitor (MTM) released a new report today that looks at media consumption and technology adoption in the north.
“For the first time, MTM expanded the scope of the MTM 18+ to survey the North, allowing a unique opportunity to examine how those residing in Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut compare and contrast to the average Canadian,” a press release reads.
