Rogers extends home monitoring  to 23 more communities in New Brunswick, Newfoundland

MONCTON – Rogers is continuing with the expansion of its Smart Home Monitoring system in Newfoundland and New Brunswick after launching in 28 additional cities and towns across those provinces Thursday. MuchMore morphs into M3

TORONTO – After 15 years as MuchMore, Bell Media said Thursday that it is re-branding the former music service into M3, a "destination channel" for 30-somethings. Starting September 30, programming will include music, scripted series, reality programming, and movies, as well as the premieres of dramas Reign, Ravenswood, and the annual Pretty Little Liars Halloween special.

Ski to receive broadcasting lifetime achievement award

TORONTO – Rogers Media has promoted Hayden Mindell to the newly created role of vice president of television programming & content, Rogers Media, effective immediately. 700 MHz auction: Wind, EastLink, confirm they’re in

WHILE VARIOUS wireless executives received e-mails this week from Industry Canada officials cautioning them on speaking with the media about the 700 MHz wireless spectrum auction, both EastLink and Wind mobile confirmed Monday they will take part. UPDATED: Vodafone’s Laurence named new Rogers president and CEO

TORONTO – Current Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence will succeed Nadir Mohamed atop Rogers Communications, the company announced Thursday morning, after a months-long process which saw many candidates interviewed. Perception Problem: Wireless competition complaints drawn from too many simplistic conclusions

OTTAWA – There simply is not a wireless services competition problem in Canada, according to a report released today by the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy. Wireless Competition in Canada: An Assessment argues that it’s too simplistic to draw conclusions about the state of competition by comparing Canada’s high average revenue per user (APRU) and lower penetration rates with international carriers.
