Government will not publish submissions received

GATINEAU, QC – Comments submitted to the federal government’s consultation into harmful content online highlight a multitude of issues with its proposals for addressing the issue as well as with the consultation process itself.
The submissions to the consultation are not easy to come by. The deadline for comments passed in September, but the government decided it would not publish the ones it received.

MONTREAL — Quebecor’s advertising sales division Quebecor Expertise Media announced today the company’s transit shelters were used once again this year as part of the Zoom Art outdoor exhibition that brought contemporary art to the streets of Laval’s Montmorency district from Sept. 10 to Oct. 3.

Cartt.ca spoke to some smaller players about their plans

After late October, Innovation Canada is expected to begin licensing portions of the 3.5 GHz spectrum it auctioned off earlier this year, so Cartt.ca asked some smaller providers what they plan to do with it.
The auction, completed in July, involved 23 applicants gunning for 1,504 licenses. The government sold the licenses for a total of $8.9 billion.

TORONTO – The Canadian Telecom Summit announced today Quebecor president and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau will give a keynote presentation at the event being held Nov. 15-17.

OTTAWA – On May 4, 2021, Data on Tap (dotmobile) filed an appeal to Cabinet of the CRTC’s review of mobile wireless services, which dealt with access by Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) to facilities of the three large wireless operators.
In a nutshell, the CRTC gave access only to players that already had facilities.

MONTREAL — Quebecor today released its 2020 Culture Report, which highlights the company’s contributions to Quebec’s cultural industries in 2020, including $230 million from its Videotron subsidiary and almost $234 million from TVA Group.
