MONTREAL – Second-quarter revenue at Cogeco Inc. increased 3.6%, to reach $536.9 million while revenue for the first six-month period ended February rose 3.8%, to reach $1.08 billion.
The growth in the quarter and half ended February 28th was mainly driven by the cable and enterprise data services segment as well as the favorable foreign exchange rates.

CALGARY – Add Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi to the growing list of Canadians opposed to more staff cuts at the CBC.

OTTAWA – Canadians’ complaints over their telecom and Internet services continue to fall, but breaches of the country’s Wireless Code of Conduct are on the rise now that more Canadians fall under it, says the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services (CCTS).
In its first ever mid-year report released Thursday, the CCTS said it accepted 5,468 complaints between August 1, 2014 and January 31, 2015, down 8.5% from the same period a year earlier. Last year’s annual report showed a 17% year-over-year drop in complaints.

OTTAWA–GATINEAU – Canada’s new emergency alert system may have officially launched this week, but it can’t reach all Canadians after some of the country’s biggest TV service providers, including Bell and Shaw, have delayed its full rollout.
Known as Alert Ready, the system notifies Canadians of emergency situations over their radios and through their televisions.
