OTTAWA — In a new report released Tuesday, the CBC’s Media Technology Monitor (MTM) analyzes how sports fans have been getting their sports fix during the Covid-19 pandemic, when professional leagues have been forced to suspend public competitions.
Some of the sports-related viewing data was included previously in the MTM’s spring 2020 Sneak Peek Report, but the new Sports in the Time of Covid-19 report digs a little deeper into sports fans’ viewing habits during the pandemic.

TORONTO — CBC announced today Piya Chattopadhyay (pictured) will be the new host of Sunday mornings on CBC Radio One, starting this fall. Her current weekly national show on CBC Radio, Out In the Open, will wrap up on Sunday, June 28 after four seasons.

OTTAWA – The Government of Canada announced Thursday it has appointed Sandra Mason and Bill Tam as part-time directors of CBC/Radio-Canada’s board of directors. Each will serve a five-year term.

VANCOUVER — After an appearance on CBC News Network’s Power & Politics program on Tuesday, in which he stupidly equated being mocked in school for wearing glasses to the experiences of Black people and other marginalized communities facing racism, former Conservative MP and Canadian Alliance party leader Stockwell Day has been forced to resign from the Telus board of directors.
