Nearly 80 per cent of Canadian anglo households subscribe to SVOD services: MTM report

Nearly four out of five anglophone households (78 per cent) and more than seven out of 10 francophone households (72 per cent) in Canada subscribe to at least one subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, according to a new report released last week from the Media Technology Monitor, a research product of CBC/Radio-Canada. CRTC grants CPE exemption for CBC coverage of the Olympics

The CRTC has approved an application from the CBC to exclude programming expenditures on the public broadcaster’s coverage of the Olympic and Paralympic Games from the calculation of its regulatory obligations relating to Canadian programming expenditures (CPE) and expenditures on programs of national interest (PNI).
