McCarthy joins CHUM. Bloxam, Noel promoted


TORONTO – After a couple of recent departures, CHUM Television has beefed up its specialty TV affiliate marketing side.

Jeremy McCarthy has been hired by CHUM Television as affiliate marketing manager with responsibility for all national marketing initiatives with CHUM’s cable, satellite and wireless affiliates, announced Allan Schwebel, vice-president, affiliate sales and marketing.

Previously McCarthy held various sales and marketing roles at Alliance Atlantis, Bell ExpressVu and SEGA of Canada. He has also worked on several national specialty channel marketing campaigns including the industry-wide “31 Days of Great TV” promotion.

Donia Bloxam has been promoted to director, affiliate sales. Since joining CHUM Television in 1998, she has held a number of positions covering account management, training, research and signal distribution functions. She has returned to CHUM in her new role on a part-time transitional basis following a recent maternity leave and assumes her position full time on September 1st.

Kevin Noel has been promoted to manager, affiliate financial systems and analysis. He assumes responsibility for affiliate revenue and subscriber tracking, analysis, forecasting and research, as well as audit functions. He joined CHUM in 2001 and was most recently the affiliate analyst and account manager.

Recently, former affiliate marketing and communications manager Quincy Raby took a position with CHUM International while former affiliate sales manager Andrew Irwin joined High Fidelity HDTV.
