Koodo internet expands into more provinces

Telus flanker brand Koodo has this week expanded its new internet service in more provinces.

Koodo internet is now available in Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador after launching in the fall following a successful pilot run in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

A Telus spokesperson said in a statement that Telus is working with network providers across these provinces to bring this expanded service.

Internet services include a $65 per month package with speeds of 75 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload; a $100 per month package with speeds of 500 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload; and 1 Gbps download and 50 Mbps upload at $110. All include unlimited data.

The Vancouver-based telecom – like other major providers – has been talking up its bundling strategy to win customers.

Koodo last month launched the Happy Stack, which packages internet, wireless and its unique Stream+ streaming services product for $99 per month.

Telus launched the new Stream+ bundle in January. The Stream+ Premium option includes the ad-free Netflix Premium and Disney+ Premium services, as well as Amazon Prime Video. Telus executives have said the new Stream+ offering is part of a broader bundling strategy to reduce customer churn as it feels the heat of competition.
