Hamilton fire causes Rogers outage over the weekend

HAMILTON – A local fire in Hamilton last Friday night impacted Rogers’ customers, some of whom were without service into Sunday evening. “We are aware of a service interruption impacting some areas of Hamilton due to a fibre cut caused by a local fire,” a tweet from the @RogersHelps Twitter account on Saturday says. The tweet also indicates wireless services were not impacted. By 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Rogers indicated many of its customers were back online and that it anticipated service to be fully restored later that day.
