Wind rolls out mobile data stick offer

TORONTO – Wind Mobile is jumping into the data market.

The wireless provider is offering a mobile data stick with unlimited Internet use for $29 per month, or will offer the data stick for free, (an $80 value), to customers who prepay two months of service.  The company also said that it will soon offer a Wi-Fi Dock, a device that can turn a data stick into shareable Internet access for over 20 devices, which will be targeted at consumers looking to share their Internet connection with additional computers or mobile devices at home or the office.

"We want to liberate Canadians from the incumbent providers’ ‘death grip’ on the Internet”, said CEO Ken Campbell, in the announcement. “Today, we are putting Internet access ‘on sale’ with a great plan and a great offer on the WINDspeed data stick. People want unlimited Internet access from home or at their office, at their favourite coffee shop, from a patio or even at a park and all at a price point they can afford."
