Upfronts 2019: “Dynamic dramas” highlight CTV’s 2019/20 fall schedule

TORONTO – CTV unveiled its 2019/20 primetime schedule on Thursday that includes five new drama series and returning favourites, the majority of which are anchored by strong female leads.

New series include crime drama Stumptown; courthouse drama All Rise, mystery thriller Emergence, family drama Almost Family, new Chuck Lorre comedy Bob Hearts Abishola, and the Canadian debut of reality singing competition The Masked Singer.

Canadian original productions include medical procedural Transplant and the fourth season of crime drama Cardinal, both scheduled to premiere mid-season.

Returning favourites include The Conners, Young Sheldon, The Good Doctor, This Is Us, Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19.

CTV2 will serve up 13.5 hours of simulcast in primetime this fall including The Voice for two hours Mondays and one hour on Tuesdays, comedies The Goldbergs and American Housewife, and NFL football on Thursdays and Sundays.

“CTV’s 2019/20 schedule has been carefully curated to offer a variety of programs for key demographics, using the same expertise that has been the hallmark of the network’s success and has led to CTV delivering the #1 new program of the year for the past nine consecutive seasons,” reads the company’s news release.
