CALGARY – Shaw Communications last week upped the responsibilities for five of its key executives.
Brad Shaw has been appointed senior vice president, operations for Shaw Communications, with responsibility for Shaw Cable, Star Choice, Shaw Broadcast Services and Shaw Tracking.
Jean Brazeau is now senior vice president, regulatory affairs, with responsibility for all regulatory matters related to Shaw Communications.
Jay Mehr is the new group vice president, operations, with responsibility for the overall leadership for Shaw’s Cable operations, including customer care, sales, technical operations and community program delivery.
Dennis Steiger is now group vice president, engineering, with accountability for all engineering activities within Shaw Cable, Star Choice, Shaw Broadcast and Shaw Tracking businesses.
Trevor English has been appointed vice president, capital markets, with responsibility for investor relations, treasury and corporate investments.
Youngest son of company founder JR Shaw, Brad Shaw has over 21 years of experience with the company, during which he has progressed through a number of leadership positions, including regional manager, vice president, operations, senior vice president of operations for Star Choice, in addition to his most recent role as senior vice-president operations, Shaw Cable. “He has been instrumental in enabling Shaw to be an industry leader in Cable, Internet and Digital Phone products,” reads the press release.
Brazeau has extensive leadership experience across both the public and private sectors in the regulatory field, including three years with Shaw as vice-president, telecommunications regulatory affairs.
Mehr has over 12 years of leadership experience with Shaw, including vice-president, operations, regional management positions in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, and leading Shaw’s digital and on demand television team.
Steiger has over 22 years of cable and telecommunications experience and has been a key leader within Shaw’s engineering team for the past 12 years. He is a professional engineer and holds a master of engineering degree from the University of Alberta.
English has extensive financial leadership experience, including over five years with Shaw as director, finance, and previous positions in the investment banking industry in both Canada and England. He has a broad background in financial analysis, capital market activities, and merger and acquisitions.
