
Serial Maven Studios, a Toronto-based independent production company and global distributor, announced Monday it is bringing more than 600 hours of new programming to MIPCOM 2026, being held next week in Cannes.
The additional content doubles Serial Maven’s international offering, which now totals more than 1,200 hours of premium programming from global producers and networks, according to a press release.
Spanning investigative documentaries, true crime, specialist factual, factual entertainment, scripted and lifestyle, the new content includes programming from a number of Canadian producers, including Peacock Alley Entertainment, Primitive Entertainment, Colbyvision, Curiosity Films, Cantina Media, A Média Productions, Antica Productions, Arcadia Entertainment, RTR Media and Ocean Entertainment, as well as producers from the U.S., Europe and Australia.
The slate’s investigative crime offering includes Prime Time Predator (two episodes x 60 minutes) from Northern Pictures (Australia) and Arrow Media (U.K.), commissioned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation; Who Killed Little Christine? (three x 60 minutes) from Peacock Alley Entertainment, originally broadcast by Paramount+ U.S. and Anthem; and Geordie Coppers (10 x 60 minutes) from Candour Productions (U.K.), originally broadcast by Channel 4. The offering also includes high-volume crime series from Law&Crime Productions (U.S.), including Crime Fix (578 x 30 minutes) and Scandal (348 x 30 minutes), alongside documentaries examining major criminal investigations, institutional failures and stories of justice.
Serial Maven’s expanding catalogue also spans science, natural history, engineering, scripted, documentary and factual entertainment with titles including Unsolved Universe (seven x 30 minutes) from Colbyvision (TVO); Empire of Bats (one x 60 minutes) from Primitive Entertainment (CBC); Donkey Kings (17 x 30 minutes) from Monument TV (broadcast by ABC in the U.S.); Mega Marine Machines Season 3 (12 x 60 minutes) from Arcadia Entertainment (National Geographic); World’s Busiest (four x 60 minutes) from Arrow Media and GroupM (Channel 5, Discovery); Angles Morts (10 x 30 minutes) from A Média, in association with C3 Media (Radio-Canada); and The Great Ghost Challenge (six x 60 minutes) from Colin Company.
The new offering builds on recently announced acquisitions also making their MIPCOM debut, including Baby Elephant School (four x 60 minutes, Big Wave and Cantina Media), The County (10 x 60 minutes, RTR Media), Small Town Escapes with Colin and Justin (20 x 30 minutes, Ocean Entertainment) and The Dunblane Tapes (1 x 90 minutes, Candour Productions), the latter recently receiving a BAFTA Scotland nomination for directors Niamh Kennedy and Anna Hall, two Grierson Award nominations for Best Single Documentary and Best History Documentary, and a nomination for Best Documentary at the Edinburgh TV Awards.
