WINNIPEG – Telus officially launched the Telus Manitoba Community Board on Wednesday, led by board chair Dave Johnston, retired president and COO of Great West Life's Canadian Division.

GATINEAU – Today, the CRTC announced changes to the proposed final terms and conditions for the mandated mandated wholesale roaming offered by Bell, Rogers and Telus.

GATINEAU – The CRTC today told Ice Wireless that allowing its Sugar Mobile customers to roam constantly on the Rogers Wireless network violates its roaming agreement and that it has 50 days to stop.
As Cartt.ca has reported, Ice had applied to the CRTC for relief against Rogers Communications after the national operator told Ice more than a year ago it was violating their agreement – and it would be terminating that contract, along with roaming service to Sugar customers.

OTTAWA – BCE Inc. got the official go ahead to proceed with its $3.9 billion purchase of MTS early Wednesday after the Competition Bureau and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) offered their respective blessings.

VANCOUVER – Despite subscriber growth in both wireless and wireline operations, Telus saw fourth quarter profits plunge 69%, the company reported Thursday.
For the period ended December 31, net income fell to $87 million from $261 million year-over-year, impacted by higher restructuring and others costs, primarily reflecting a $305 million one-time “transformative compensation expense” made to employees. When excluding restructuring and other costs, net gains and equity income from real estate joint venture developments, and favourable income tax-related adjustments, adjusted net income dipped 2.5%.
