OTTAWA – A collective of Canadian startups will try to attract global attention next week as they exhibit new, innovative applications at Mobile World Congress 2019 Los Angeles.
The four companies were selected to participate in the L-Spark Secure IoT Accelerator Program earlier this year and are now ready to demonstrate their work. TORONTO – After 14 years leading provincial public broadcaster TV Ontario, Lisa De Wilde (right) announced today she will depart at the end of October, the end of her current contract term.

VANCOUVER – Telus announced today it will purchase ADT Security Services Canada for approximately $700 million.
ADT Canada is a leading provider of security and automation solutions, serving residential and business customers. It has approximately 500,000 customers and 1,000 employees across the country, according to the Telus press release. Last fiscal year, ended December 31st, ADT’s Canadian operations generated US$229 million in revenue, said the release from the Boca Raton, Fla.-based company.

Telus and B.C. government team up
VANCOUVER – Port Clements, B.C., a village of fewer than 300 on the shores of the Masset Inlet of Graham Island, now has 4G LTE wireless service.
In March, Telus finished a $500,000 cell tower to bring wireless service to the community for the very first time and now residents and visitors have access to 4G LTE.

VANCOUVER — Telus announced Thursday chief corporate officer and group president Josh Blair (pictured) has decided to leave the company at the end of the year.

LONDON – Global mobile measurement company Opensignal released a report this morning showing Canada appears to be ahead many other countries when it comes to delivering wireless services beyond major population centres.

TORONTO – Bell Media’s Discovery will be on a month-long free preview from October 10 to November 7.
Along with the free preview release, Discovery announced new seasons of two of its marquee Canadian series. OTTAWA – As part of its campaign pledge to “make life affordable for Canadian families,” the federal Liberal Party says that if it remains in power following next month’s election, it will “take strong action” to have cellphone bills reduced by 25% within four years and save a family of four nearly $1,000 a year.
