VANCOUVER – Telus is predicting 4-6 % consolidated revenue growth in 2009, representing an increase of approximately $375 to $625 million.
The company released its financial targets for next year on Tuesday in a press release. Among its other predictions are:

TORONTO – Telus will invest $100 million over three years in the healthcare segment under a newly launched brand called Telus Health Solutions.

VANCOUVER – Telus reported a 6% increase in operating revenues in the third quarter, but a 30% drop in net income, the company announced Friday.
Wireless saw an 8.7% per cent revenue increase to $1.2 billion thanks to “record” year to date subscriber growth. Telus now has 5,981,200 wireless subscribers, up 10.6% from a year earlier. Wireline revenue grew 3.6% to $1.25 billion, driven by data growth, the release continued, though 43,000 connections were lost during the quarter, bringing the total number of landline connections to 4,282,000.

VANCOUVER and MONTREAL – Canada’s two biggest telcos put out separate press releases today touting their impending wireless network upgrades to HSPA and eventually LTE, but buried within them both, Telus and Bell say they’ll be working together on the upgrade, expected to cost in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

MONTREAL – TELUS and the Quebec government have partnered on a $1.6 million training program and on the creation of 149 new jobs in the telco’s Quebec technical support team.
Nearly $405,000 of the training money will come from the provincial government’s Emploi-Québec, it was announced Thursday.
