Shaw to wire up Winnipeg

CALGARY – Shaw has signed a deal with the City of Winnipeg to provide data networking services, Internet and WiFi. The multi-year agreement, announced Tuesday, will see Shaw provide a 35-site Virtual Private Local Area Network Service (VPLS) that includes separate VPLS domains for each of the City's business units, in addition to carrier grade Internet.  Shaw will also provide WiFi to Winnipeg's libraries that will be available free to users. Shaw Premium Audience Network adds 10 new partner sites via CBS Interactive

TORONTO – Shaw Media has expanded its partnership for Canadian digital sales with CBS Interactive by adding a number of new websites, including CBSNews.com and CBSSports.com, to the Shaw Premium Audience Network (S.P.A.N.). TORONTO – Global is adding two new U.S. talk shows – The Jeff Probst Show and The Ricki Lake Show – to its daytime lineup this Fall. CBC, Rogers, Shaw partner on online ad exchange

TORONTO – CBC/Radio-Canada, Rogers Media and Shaw Media are teaming up on a new venture that allows advertisers to bid for space on their respective digital advertising inventory in real-time. On Thursday, the CRTC renewed broadcasting licenses for Quebecor's Groupe TVA, Astral Media and the independent specialty channel Canal Évasion. Shaw can acquire 100% stake in Mystery, The Cave

OTTAWA – Shaw Communications has received CRTC approval to buy out the half of specialty channels Mystery and The Cave that it doesn't already own. Both English-language category A channels are currently jointly controlled by Shaw Communications and Quebecor’s TVA Group.  In its decision, the Commission valued Mystery at approximately $36 million and The Cave (formerly known as Men TV) at just over $4 million.
