TORONTO – Rogers seems to be taking full advantage of its new programming alliance with CBC.
Less than a week after announcing the partnership, Rogers said that it will offer CBC’s coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup live and in replay across all of its various platforms. Its World Cup offerings include:

TORONTO – Rogers-owned Citytv has become the first Canadian media company to release a video iPad app for Canadian audiences.
Just in time for Friday’s Canadian launch of Apple’s iPad, Citytv.com unveiled an iPad app for its on-line programming initiative Shorts in the City which kicked off earlier this week.
The Shorts in the City app offers a selection of serialized on-line video content featuring over 17 shows, 500 episodes and 35 hours of drama, comedy, sci-fi, thriller, horror and animation. The app is free to Canadians and can be downloaded on iTunes.

TORONTO – Add the CBC to the list of programmers to sign on with Rogers.

Available free to Rogers Wireless and Fido customers, the Rogers Radio iPhone app provides the ability to search by genre, station, city or by ‘Near Me’. TORONTO – Rogers has officially launched “the next big thing in television”, otherwise known as its broadband portal Rogers On Demand Online.

OTTAWA – Bell Canada and Bell Aliant plan to appeal a recent CRTC decision not allowing them to implement usage-based billing (UBB) on their wholesale customers until they do so for all of their retail customers.

OTTAWA – The time has come to eliminate wholesale regulation of retail Internet services, two of the countries largest communications companies tell Cartt.ca. They say intermodal competition – cable versus DSL versus wireless – has rendered the need for a wholesale access regime unnecessary.
