Cox, Rogers, to present energy reduction case studies at Cable-Tec

EXTON, PA — Cox Communications and Rogers Communications will highlight energy reductions achieved using SCTE•ISBE standards when they present at SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo Virtual Experience on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Rogers launches smartphone repair service

TORONTO – Rogers Communications announced today it will begin offering smartphone repair services at select Rogers retail locations. Rogers will bring WeFix smartphone repair services, in partnership with its owner Brightstar Device Protection, to select Rogers stores across the GTA starting today making Rogers outlets a one-stop-shop for all their customers’ device needs. Videotron asks Competition Bureau to investigate Bell’s pole-access practices

Also files lawsuit seeking $12 million in damages MONTREAL — Quebecor-owned Videotron is taking its dispute with Bell over access to support structures to the Competition Bureau of Canada, asking for an investigation into Bell’s practices which Videotron says are anticompetitive by allegedly slowing down or, in some cases, blocking access to Bell’s telephone poles. Bell’s Move Valet helps customers transfer services

TORONTO — Last week, Bell Canada rolled out a new service designed to help customers moving homes to smoothly transfer their Bell services to their new residence. Bell’s Move Valet service will assign a dedicated team of moving experts to provide the customer with support throughout the process, including seven-day-a-week telephone support. Rogers helps raise $100,000 to support Orange Shirt Society

TORONTO — On Orange Shirt Day, a day when Canadians wear orange to acknowledge Canada’s history of residential schools, Rogers Communications announced today almost $100,000 has been raised through the purchase of t-shirts as part of the company’s #WeWearOrange campaign in support of the Orange Shirt Society. Most telecom shoppers are satisfied, says CRTC secret shopper project

But industry still has work to do GATINEAU — The CRTC released today the findings of its first-ever secret shopper project, which was launched in response to the Commission’s 2019 report on misleading or aggressive sales practices among telecommunications service providers. While the secret shopper report concludes the vast majority of enlisted shoppers’ interactions with the providers’ sales staff were perceived as positive, approximately one in five shoppers perceived they may have faced misleading or aggressive sales practices. Rogers teams up with sports stars to help kids return to play

TORONTO — Rogers Communications today announced the launch of Team Rogers Community Draft, a nationwide program aimed at helping Canadian youth return to playing recreational sports when and where it is safe to do so in their communities. TPIA: CRTC approves stay on wholesale rates; “disappointing” says CNOC

GATINEAU — As the CRTC continues a Review and Vary of its August 2019 order which slashed the wholesale rates third-party Internet access (TPIA) companies pay to the incumbent network owners, the Commission announced today it is approving a stay of the order’s implementation while it completes its review. The stay was requested by Bell Canada and cable companies Cogeco, Eastlink, Rogers, Shaw and Videotron when those incumbents requested in December 2019 that the Commission review and vary its Telecom Order 2019-288 decision.
