MONTREAL – Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Cable Inc. are expecting their senior executive officers to own more of the two companies. “To reflect best corporate governance practices in Canada,” Cogeco announced Monday it was upping the minimum share ownership levels for people such as Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Cable President and CEO Louis Audet.

MONTREAL – All of Cogeco Cable’s services, except digital TV, grew faster in the second quarter ended February 28 compared to the same period a year earlier, according to financial results released Wednesday.
Cogeco Cable added 13,961 net digital TV customers in the second quarter of 2007 compared with 24,547 in the same period last year.

BITE Television’s content consists of user-generated, acquired and in-house short-form productions. The three- to five-minute edgy shows target the 18 to 34-year-old male demographic. Last week, the channel finalized an agreement to provide Amp’d Mobile with short-form content.

OTTAWA – The CRTC has launched a public proceeding to set out rules regarding the installation of a network interconnection device (NID) when the incumbent local exchange carrier’s (ILEC) network is disconnected from the inside wire at the home of a residential customer who has elected to take a cable telephone service and no longer wishes to use any services provided on the ILEC’s network (Telecom Public Notice 2007-3).
