Corus launches Disney channels

TORONTO and MONTREAL – Disney Channel and La chaîne Disney officially arrived in Canada this week. Corus Entertainment said that the channels are available in most markets now, and will be available in 10 million households by Thursday via distribution partners Bell Aliant, Bell Fibe TV, Bell Satellite TV, CCSA members including Eastlink and Access, Cogeco Cable Canada, MTS, Rogers, Shaw, Shaw Direct, Telus and Videotron. CCSA gives thumbs up to Feds pledge to invest in rural broadband

CCSA unveils 2015 Tuned-in Canada winners

SAINT JOHN – After receiving more than 17,000 votes from across the country, the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance (CCSA) has announced the winners of the 2015 Tuned-in Canada: The CCSA Awards. The contest, designed to celebrate local cable companies, their content and the personalities that make them shine, received more than 130 nominations in the categories of I *heart* customer service; I *heart* public service/community-building efforts; I *heart* local programming — in news, sports and entertainment; and best on-camera community channel personality. CCSA’s Salmon off to CTAM U at Harvard

TORONTO – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance’s Jennifer Salmon is headed to Harvard in June as this year’s recipient of the CTAM Canada Fellowship Award, also known as CTAM U. LET’S TALK TV: It’ll take months to process and years to implement, but initial reaction is positive
