TORONTO — Although nobody will be shaking hands at customers’ doors due to Covid-19, Rogers Communications announced Tuesday it has expanded its personalized retail service Pro On-the-Go into parts of Southwestern Ontario and is moving to all-contactless phone delivery and set-up.
The service is now available to customers in Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Brantford and Cambridge, among many other locations in Southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe (see the expanded coverage area above).
With Rogers Pro On-the-Go, customers can get a new phone within hours of ordering and expert support to set it up, at no extra cost. However, to keep customers and employees safe, Rogers and its partner Enjoy have temporarily moved to a fully contactless phone delivery and set-up model. Customers choose the time and date most convenient for them and a Rogers Pro will deliver the device and guide them at a safe social distance over the phone or through a video call to set up the device, transfer applications and sync contacts, all based on the customer’s preferences.
“In these uncertain times, Canadians rely on their smartphones to stay connected to the outside world and the people that matter most,” said Brent Johnston, president of wireless for Rogers Communications, in the news release. “It is more important than ever that we bring our customers the wireless devices and services they need in a way that’s safe, convenient and personalized for them.”
Rogers Pro On-the-Go originally launched in the Greater Toronto Area in October 2019 and was expanded to Greater Vancouver in March. Rogers plans to expand the service to more Canadian markets this year.
