TORONTO — Animation production company Wow! Unlimited Media today announced Tonya Williams has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Williams is an Emmy-nominated actor, producer, director and activist. (You can hear a recent Cartt.ca podcast interview with her here.) Williams is the founder and executive producer of the Reelworld Film Festival and the Reelworld Foundation, launched in 2001. The Reelworld festival has served as a launching pad for Black, Indigenous, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern and Latin American Canadian filmmakers. In addition, the initiative recently launched Access Reelworld, an extensive database of diverse talent across the Canadian entertainment industry.
