MARKHAM – The Ontario Association of Broadcasters will be holding their 8th Annual Career Development Day on March 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Media, 333 Bloor Street East in Toronto.
Career Day 2013 will include a panel discussion entitled, “Carving your Path in Broadcasting.” The discussion, moderated by Jim Carr, Director, OAB and Professor, Seneca College, will highlight success stories, what skills will secure your future job and how to get started in broadcasting.
The day is highlighted by roundtable discussions that will include broadcasters from all areas of radio and television. This is a one of a kind opportunity for soon to be graduating students to speak candidly with experienced broadcasters in all areas of the business says the OAB. It will provide students with first-hand information on all aspects of broadcasting in today’s marketplace and is invaluable to students hoping to enter the broadcasting field. Many of OAB’s broadcasters who volunteer their time, return year-after-year to get a student’s perspective on the ever changing industry.
Students interested in attending Career Day 2013 should contact their professors. Professors and coordinators are asked to email a list of students who would like to attend to: memberservices@oab.ca. Space is limited and only confirmed names received via email will be allowed entry. For more information, please contact Val Skivington at 905-554-2730 or memberservices@oab.ca.
