TORONTO — MuchMusic announced today its formative concert series Intimate and Interactive will make its return this month, 30 years after its original debut, with singer and rapper Coi Leray (above) as its first featured artist.
Streaming live exclusively on TikTok on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. ET, this half-hour special will see Leray join MuchMusic’s Kwesi Kwarko-Fosu in Los Angeles for an interview and live performance featuring two of her latest hits.
“With 6.5 million followers on TikTok, Coi Leray’s music has exploded on platform, with her hit song ‘No More Parties’ generating 900,000 video creates to date and ‘Ocean Prime’ (feat. Coi Leray) at almost 485,000 creates,” reads a MuchMusic press release.
“Most recently, her song ‘Twinnem’ became the backing track to the viral ‘Twinnem Challenge,’ and currently sits at more than 1.65 million video creates.”
Since the MuchMusic brand was relaunched on July 7, MuchMusic has garnered more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, growing by 17,000 to 20,000 new followers each week, according to the press release.
