LoRa Alliance expands LoRaWAN NetID program to support global roaming

FREMONT, Calif. — The LoRa Alliance, a global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN standard for IoT low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), announced today it has expanded its LoRaWAN NetID program to provide broader access to NetID licenses for LoRa Alliance members and non-members alike, “which will in turn accelerate global roaming deployments,” according to a press release. “LoRaWAN is an open global standard with full roaming capabilities already available internationally and via satellite,” said Donna Moore, CEO and chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance, in the press release. “LoRaWAN is rapidly becoming ubiquitous.
