PETERBOROUGH, ON – Lindsay Broadband is working with Mexican communications company Megacable as it completes a large-scale deployment of WiFi nodes in various cities across Mexico.

The deployment, which began at the end of 2014 and corresponds to a new service offering from the MSO, offers wireless access services to all its customers as a complementary service.

The Megacable WiFi service utilizes more than 6,000 LBDG gateways manufactured by Lindsay Broadband, which allows Megacable to provide POE power and DOCSIS backhaul to the WiFi technology through their existing HFC-DOCSIS network, reads the news release. The LBDG equipment is designed to withstand extreme climatic conditions (temperatures from -40 to +65 degrees Celsius), and is completely sealed against water ingress and protected against electromagnetic interference, making it unique in its style and perfect for outdoor deployments.

"We are very pleased to help provide Megacable’s customers with a fast and high quality internet connectivity in the main restaurants, shopping malls, squares, universities and parks identified with the Megacable WiFi Zone logo", said Lindsay Broadband president David Atman, in the release.
