Video Journalist

The CKPG Newsroom, in Pattison Media’s, Prince George division, is looking to hire a multi-talented individual who can contribute to our radio and television stations and community portal CKPGToday.ca.

The ideal candidate is a skilled television presenter with excellent writing skills and a proven ability to identify and develop stories. We are searching for an individual who can produce their stories with creativity and professionalism. Your strong social media skills will be relied upon to develop and build our online presence.

As a CKPG Video Journalist, you will be required to arrange and conduct interviews, produce daily news items under a deadline and present them to our audience. You will also have the opportunity to develop more in-depth features on a wide range of subjects. You will need to work well individually and as a member of our experienced news team. While your primary role will be in television, you will also be expected to support our radio and online operations.

Qualifications:

  • A broadcast school diploma or appropriate experience.
  • Excellent research, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong social media skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and on your own.
  • Ability to deal with tight deadlines.
  • A driver’s license (abstract required for interview).
  • Shooting and editing (Adobe Premiere preferred) are a requirement for this position.
  • Experience with both Radio and Television News would be an asset.
