Pattison Media’s CHAT TV newsroom is seeking to add a Reporter/Anchor to our award-winning news team in Medicine Hat.
Ideally, our next team member has a keen sense of curiosity to find and pitch local story ideas that impact our audience. We want to find someone who is an excellent storyteller, loves to be creative, and connect with people.
A typical day in our newsroom will involve pitching story ideas, arranging and conducting interviews, working with photographers on visual elements while producing daily content for our television and digital platforms.
Candidates with strong on-air presentation and previous anchoring experience will get the opportunity to be a fill-in anchor for our noon and evening television newscasts.
Candidates should have:
- Outstanding writing skills
- Excellent news judgement and ability to make quick decisions in the field
- Conversational on-air presentation style
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excels at working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Valid Drivers License
- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
