HAMILTON and MONTREAL – Just days after launching its Canadian Content Distribution Network (CDN) and authentication services, Clearcable Networks has finalized a distribution deal with ICI Television.
Effective immediately, service providers wishing to carry ICI Television’s multicultural programming can pick it up from the Clearcable CDN and subscribers choosing to view the programmers’ over-the-top (OTT) live stream on any device will be directed to the most local edge cache in Clearcable’s distributed network.
“We’re delighted to include ICI’s high quality multicultural content on the CDN,” said Clearcable president Rob McCann, in Thursday’s news release. “Extending the market for this content is key to offering Canadians more choice.”
“Clearcable’s solution has allowed us to reach more potential subscribers”, added ICI VP and GM Sam Norouzi. “We will continue to find innovative ways to deliver content to subscribers where and when they want it.”
ICI Television offers programming in 15 languages serving 18 ethnic communities, in addition to providing programming in French and in English.
