TORONTO – Telus is offering customers a fun way to give back to those less fortunate this holiday season with its 11th annual charity critter sale.
Stuffed Saw-whet owls, featured in Telus’ current ad campaign, are available in select stores for $7.50 until December 31, 2011. Part of the sales proceeds will be given to local organizations, including youth-focused charities across the country. Customers are invited to donate $1 if they choose not to purchase a critter but still want to contribute to the store’s charitable donation.
“For years Canadians have embraced our commitment to giving back and making a difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Joe Goodbaum, president of Telus Retail, in the announcement. “With the generous help of our customers, our team’s goal this year is to raise $100,000! We hope to raise $50,000 from critter sales which will be proudly matched, up to $50,000, by Telus – just in time for the holiday season.”
Since 2001, Telus’ annual critter sales have generated close to $600,000 for hundreds of local charities across Canada including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Sick Kids Foundation, Opération Enfant Soleil, and Boy's and Girl's Clubs. Over 180 stores are participating in this year’s campaign.
