TIMMINS, ON – Eastlink Wireless will officially arrive in Northern Ontario next month.
At a launch event Thursday in Timmins, Eastlink CEO Lee Bragg said that customers can sign up beginning June 1 at the new Eastlink Store in Timmins Square (pictured), as well as online or by calling in to its customer care centre. Sudbury area customers can get a sneak peak of the new service starting June 9 at the Eastlink location in New Sudbury Centre, and its grand opening celebration is planned for June 18.
“We are excited to expand our wireless service into Northern Ontario,” said Bragg. “Our goal is to deliver the best possible experience for our customers. We do that by investing in the latest network technology, providing great value for money, and by delivering customer service that exceeds our customers’ expectations.”
As it does in Nova Scotia and PEI, Eastlink will buy out new customer’s existing cellphone contracts, plus offer ‘easyTab’ which allows customers to upgrade or switch plans without penalty. Talk, text and data plans start at $30 per month, and families can share 1 GB of data plus get unlimited talk and text starting at $85 per month for two lines. Eastlink is also offering an additional $5 per month discount on select data plans for customers who sign up early.
“We’re not like other cellphone providers,” added Eastlink Wireless president Matthew MacLellan. “We listen to what customers want and we deliver more of what is important to them – simple plans at lower prices, together with leading network speed, extensive coverage, and exceptional customer service.”
