
BRATISLAVA, Slovakia — ducktv, a Slovakia-based educational and entertainment channel for children aged six months to four years old, announced today it has signed an agreement with Bell Canada for distribution of the linear channel on Bell Fibe TV in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
Calling itself “television for absolute beginners”, ducktv features original animation and an original music track, with no language. Parents and caregivers can “feel safe having their young kids watch ducktv since there are no commercials,” explains a press release.
“The high-quality, original, and exclusive content is created in-house under the supervision of child psychologists and is designed to help children develop their cognitive, visual, and auditory abilities as well as stimulate their emotional and intellectual development,” the release adds.
The channel is owned and operated by Mega Max Media s.r.o. and is based in Bratislava, Slovakia.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Bell Canada and the debut of the ducktv linear channel in Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces on Fibe TV,” said Sue Panzer, the North American representative for ducktv, in the release.
“This partnership will significantly expand the reach of the ducktv brand bringing our expertly curated, high-quality toddler’s content to new audiences in Canada.”
ducktv is available on Bell Fibe TV on channel 1546 (Ontario and Quebec), Bell Aliant Fibe TV on channel 499 (Atlantic provinces), on the Bell Fibe TV app on channel 546, and on Virgin Plus on channel 546.
The channel is currently on free preview until Sept. 24, 2022. According to pricing information on Bell’s website, ducktv is available à la carte for $4 per month.
Some of the programming available on ducktv includes Ducky and Friends (pictured above), Bedtime Stories, Sleep Tight!, Let’s Move!, Seasons on ducktv, Learn with ducktv and ducktv Favorites.
The channel launched in 2007 and is Kids-Safe certified. It is currently available in more than 150 countries worldwide.
