Dan O’Toole signs exclusive brand and content deal with BetRivers

CHICAGO – Chicago-based gaming and betting company Rush Street Interactive Inc. announced today Dan O’Toole (above) has signed an exclusive brand and content deal with its brand BetRivers.

O’Toole debuted “as a BetRivers Brand Ambassador in a series of television ads that aired in Canada during the 2022 Winter Olympics,” a press release explains. The deal announced today expands that role.

As Cartt.ca reported last February, O’Toole was laid off from his anchor position at TSN when Bell Media made a series of cuts, which included more than 200 jobs in Toronto alone.

Earlier this year, O’Toole began hosting the podcast Boomsies! with the BetRivers Network, which “quickly became one of the top sports podcasts in the Canadian market,” the press release says.

O’Toole’s exclusive brand and content deal with BetRivers comes as Rush Street Interactive takes its BetRivers online casino and sportsbook live in Ontario as single-game sports betting opens up in the province.

“Joining BetRivers and hosting Boomsies! is a terrific way for me to continue to do what I love and to engage with sports fans,” said O’Toole, in today’s press release.

“With BetRivers.ca’s live launch in Ontario this week, this is an exciting moment in the evolution of sports betting here in Canada and a great opportunity for me to provide commentary and share my passion for sports with my fellow Canadians, as well as in other markets throughout the U.S. where BetRivers has sportsbooks.”

“Dan O’Toole has had a tremendous broadcasting career in Canada,” said Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive. “Having him join our BetRivers team to create content and produce podcasts is bringing a new level of expertise and entertainment to our betting family.”

Boomsies! releases a new episode every Wednesday on podcast apps including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and on YouTube.
