MONTREAL – Corus Media has promoted Brigitte Vincent to the position of vice president of programming for its Historia and Séries+ channels, effective immediately.

Vincent, pictured, has been director of original productions and Canadian acquisitions at Historia and Séries+ since 2008.  She previously made a name for herself with her involvement in public affairs shows and as a producer of various magazine shows and documentaries for a number of general and specialty channels.

“There’s no question that with her extensive experience, adaptability and understanding of the current and future issues in our industry, Brigitte will drive the continued development of our channels and take them to the next level,” said Corus Media president Mario Cecchini, in Tuesday’s announcement.  “She will also assume responsibility for strategic management and relationships with stakeholders in the sector, who are partners in our growth and will help us fulfill the potential of the Historia and Séries+ channels.”

To support her in her new duties, Vincent named Catherine Vidal to the position of director of original productions and Canadian acquisitions.  Vidal has worked in the television field for over 15 years, most notably as a producer for production company Baroque, which she co-founded.

A subsidiary of Corus Entertainment, Corus Media operates the French-language specialty television brands Historia, Séries+, Télétoon and Télétoon Rétro in Quebec.
