Comwave hires former Leaf Domi as pitch-man

TORONTO – Comwave has recruited former Maple Leaf player Tie Domi for a new campaign that starts today to promote the company’s latest home phone and internet bundle.

Known for his role as an enforcer on the ice, Domi will help consumers “stand up” to the big phone and cable companies with Comwave’s $49.95 home and internet service, which includes unlimited internet usage, says the company.

Comwave’s new “Stand Up to the Big Guys” campaign hits TV, newspapers, and the internet across Canada today. The company says its campaign marks a clear indication of the brand's direction, refusing to shy away from challenging Canada’s largest players who charge too much and control how much we use. “Associating our brand with Tie Domi was a natural fit. His reputation for taking on competitors twice his size and winning, highlights our message of standing up to the big guys for our customers.” said Comwave’s president and CEO Yuval Barzakay.
