CCSA brings on former Rogers director as partner relations lead

The Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA), a rep for independent telecom service providers, announced Wednesday that Alice Bernier is the organization’s director of partner relations.

Bernier will “lead negotiations, finalize and administer master agreements with Canadian and international media and entertainment companies, and oversee group purchasing activities on behalf of the CCSA’s membership,” a press release said.

“With over 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Bernier brings a wealth of expertise from her leadership role at Rogers and her contributions to the growth of various media companies in recent years,” the release added.

Bernier was a former senior director of content acquisition at Rogers for four years, up to 2020. She also held content direct, director and manager roles at the cable giant for a total of 15 years, handling matters including negotiations on content deals.

“At Rogers, Bernier led teams managing major content partnerships, negotiating distribution rights with broadcasters, distribution organizations, and studios across Canada, the U.S., and globally,” the CCSA release said. “Her track record includes driving strategies and executing deals for content-based products and digital platforms, helping partners thrive in an evolving media landscape.”

Before that, she was Bell’s business affairs manager from 2003 to 2005, where she drafted contracts for the programming and pay per view departments and negotiated terms and conditions in contracts, according to her LinkedIn page.

Bernier was most recently the owner of ReelPro Consulting, where she was “retained as subject matter expert to develop negotiation strategies designed to meet or exceed targets, while managing CRTC rules and guidelines.”

Before that, she was senior vice president of customer engagement and delivery at RSG Media, where she “managed client relations with senior executives for multi-million dollar engagements,” among other responsibilities, her LinkedIn page reads.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alice to the CCSA team,” CCSA CEO Sheri Somerville said in the release. “Her proven expertise in media partnerships and her ability to foster innovative business development will be instrumental in enhancing the value we deliver to our members and partners.”
