
OTTAWA — The Competitive Network Operators of Canada (CNOC) announced today CRTC chair and CEO Ian Scott and Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry Navdeep Bains are confirmed as keynote speakers for next month’s virtual Canadian ISP Summit.
Running from November 3 to 4, the virtual 2020 Canadian ISP Summit has as its theme “Navigating the New Normal”, and will feature keynote speeches, general session presentations and panel discussions, as well as a virtual trade show.
Scott is scheduled to speak on November 3 from 1:10 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. ET. Bains will speak on November 4 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET.
Another confirmed keynote speaker is Shawn Kanungo, an innovation strategist who will discuss the topic of “Disruption is Opportunity”. He will outline some of the disruptive trends impacting every industry, and explore how organizations can become more adaptable, experimental and collaborative. Kanungo will speak November 3 from 4:25 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
On November 4 from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET, Cartt.ca’s editor and publisher Greg O’Brien will moderate a regulatory panel featuring: Christian Tacit, barrister and solicitor, and principal/founder of Tacit Law; Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair in Internet and e-commerce law, University of Ottawa; Laura Tribe, executive director of OpenMedia; and Geoff White, director of legal affairs at CNOC.
