WINNIPEG – Just in time for its 10th anniversary this September, and in preparation for its Olympic coverage, APTN is re-branding and will roll out a new on-air look in conjunction with its Spring season of programming early next month.
The “vibrant” look will consist of new colours, design, and a makeover of the APTN ‘face’, a website overhaul, and a new studio and set design for its national news. Its children’s programming will also get a facelift in the coming months.
“We at APTN have worked very hard over the past year to conceptualize and build a new and vibrant re-brand for the network, and we’re very excited to soon share it with our viewers,” said director of marketing, Sky Bridges, in an email interview with Cartt.ca. “APTN has much to prepare for in the coming year and the network’s new look will certainly set the stage; particularly as APTN prepares to broadcast the 2010 Olympic Games. The world will be watching and we want to put our best face forward.”
APTN is the world’s first Aboriginal broadcaster of the Olympic Games, as part of the broadcast consortium for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
The only national Aboriginal broadcaster in the world, APTN airs documentaries, news magazine shows, dramas, entertainment specials, children’s series, cooking shows and education programs, by, for and about Aboriginal Peoples. Approximately 56% of its programming is offered in English, 16% in French and 28% in a variety of Aboriginal languages.
